Bad Beat Jackpot Passes $700,000
Absolute Poker is once again on the verge of making poker history. As of Thursday afternoon, the popular online poker site’s Bad Beat Jackpot had surpassed the $700,000 milestone, well on its way to beating its own record of $821,670.69.
The announcement comes just two days after the jackpot had reached $600,000. Whether the jackpot will be hit before it has a chance to beat its own record remains to be seen.
Online poker players are flocking in droves to the online poker site for a chance to secure a life-changing prize by losing a hand of Texas Hold’em - and for good reason. At the current $717,000 mark, the next player to hit the jackpot is guaranteed to take home over $230,000. As Absolute Poker’s Bad Beat Jackpot rises, that number will keep growing.

Absolute Poker is paying players for their losing hands. Bad Beat Jackpot is just like regular Texas Hold’em but with a slight twist. If a player loses a Texas Hold’em hand holding four 8s or anything better while seated at a Bad Beat Jackpot table, they’ll win a large piece of the Bad Beat Jackpot. The winner of the hand, the participants in the online poker hand and players seated at Bad Beat Jackpot tables with the same game type and stakes also share in the jackpot.
