Former American Idol Charged with Assault

Former American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra was arrested in South Tampa for hitting a man with a heavy class in a café.
The 21 year old songstress was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and after officers found some cocaine in her purse, they added charges of possession and introduction of contraband. She was released Sunday afternoon on $11,500 bail.
Sierra rose to national fame in 2005, making it to the final 10 of the American Idol competition.  Things haven’t been so rosy since, she’s struggling to get a record contract and working at Hooters in South Tampa.
